Composite Fillings

Composite fillings are the tooth-coloured fillings that we routinely use. Made from a mixture of glass ceramics and resins, they can mimic the appearance of tooth excellently and so restore missing parts of your teeth . Aesthetics are so good with these materials now that you would be struggling to spot a filling from a tooth.

Composite fillings are also strong and actually bond or “glue” into your tooth so help add strength to your tooth.

With increasing wear characteristics they can now last for many years and allow us to be able to preserve as much of your tooth tissue as possible, hence called Minimal Intervention Dentistry or MID as you may see it in information.

These tooth-coloured filings can be placed anywhere, in the front teeth or the posterior teeth. Sometimes a harder filling may be required and for that we can use Inlays, Onlays and Cerec.
